Wellhaven to honor military heritage
This year marks the 120-year anniversary of The Lutheran Home Association. Wellhaven Senior Living is a ministry of TLHA. We are recognizing our history and honoring our military heritage. A new anniversary logo was created to commemorate 120 years of caring for souls. The logo highlights the past and the future of our ministry.
The logo includes an image of the original Lutheran home built in 1898 from the money left to Sophie Boessling after the death of her only child, Ernst. Ernst Boessling died in service to his country at Vicksburg, Miss. His sacrifice made our ministry a reality and reminds us that the service of veterans was embedded in our roots and made our future possible. The logo also incorporates a flag to show how grateful we are for the freedom to share the gospel in our communities. The female soldier represents the daily sacrifice thousands of men and women who currently serve for our freedom. The cross and hand of Jesus reminds us of the core of our mission "to share the love of Christ."
As part of TLHA, Wellhaven Senior Living is excited to participate in the 120-year celebration. Staff members and volunteers will wear red T-shirts with the anniversary logo to honor those currently serving in our military and honoring our heritage.
Thank you to our veterans and their families. Interested in joining our team or volunteering to serve our tenants? Learn more at www.mywellhaven.org or call 715-426-4646.
